If the session is linked to a contact or lead, message content is retained for up to 180 days after its last activity. Linking a conversation does not restart that clock.

After message content is deleted, limited session and interaction records that do not contain the transcript may be retained for up to 90 days for an unlinked session or 365 days for a linked session. Our browser-based chat restore currently expires after 24 hours.

Deletion from our live systems may not immediately remove copies from restricted disaster-recovery backups; those copies expire according to the applicable backup schedule. We may preserve specifically identified records longer when required for a legal obligation, an active security or fraud investigation, or a concrete dispute. Any such exception is limited to the affected records and purpose.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
